I hate when I forget to take “before” pictures.
Here’s the best I’ve got:
I found this mirror at a yard sale, and it was destined for something great.
But a spiraly gold frame ain’t my style, so I decided to paint it.
And I alllllmost painted it my favorite tealy color of blue.
But I feel like I’m overdoing that color a little. So I went with purple.
I taped off the mirror, and made the edges crisp, with an X-ACTO knife.
Then I jumped right in, cause seriously this mirror ain’t exactly high quality, and I didn’t care about a bunch of prep work.
I sponged most of the paint on, cause it did a better coverage of the gold.
After I got the first layer done, I let it dry.
And I came back the next day (cause life happens) and painted another layer of paint on.
Then I ripped off the painter’s tape…
And there were little seeps of paint in the corners.
Bummer.
So I got my handy dandy X-ACTO knife back out and scraped the paint off the mirror.
And I put that baby back on the wall!
Viola!
I’m too short to get a picture where the popcorn ceiling isn’t showing. 😩
Here’s a before and after:
So, there’s my latest simple project, complete!
I honestly don’t love it as much as I thought I would, but hey. That’s what I get for not using my classic light teal.
Love a good mirror diy 🙂
