T-shirt makeover

I got this shirt from my mother-in-law a few years ago, and I love it.

It says “Blessed girl” on the front, and “Love your neighbor as your selfie” on the back.

I think it’s super cute, and the fabric is really soft.

My husband doesn’t like the way it fits me.

It’s a little too… Square?

We were doing a clothes-purge a few weeks ago, and it almost got chopped.

I decided to wear it today… Maybe with the intention of changing before the hubster got home? It was just so comfy!

But some part of my brain had the idea to just take it in (even though I’m terrible at sewing)…
And I’m trying to live by my new motto:

“Do things while you are excited about them.” -me.

So I just jumped right into it.

Did I measure? Of course not.

Do I regret that? Yes, slightly.

I just eyeballed some lines on each side of the inside-out shirt with a Sharpie, and then I sewed down the lines.

Sue me.

Or rather, sew me. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Boooooo. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘ŽWhat a terrible joke.

Then I rolled up the sleeves and sewed around them a few times.

Sleeve 1:

Sleeve 2:

And then I eyeballed it all over again on the second side.

That mostly worked out.

Except that the sleeves are 2 different lengths. Haha.

But now I don’t care anymore. ๐Ÿคท

I was about to say that I’m excited to see if my husband notices, but he notices everything. I bet $10 that’s the first thing he says when he sees me. “You took the shirt in!” Calling it.

Soooo instead, I’m excited to see if he likes the shirt better now!

Even though, you know… The right sleeve is longer… ๐Ÿ˜’

Have you ever taken in a t-shirt? Any tips on shortening my sleeve? Haha.

(And BY THE WAY, the before picture in this set was taken when I was part of the way through… ๐Ÿ™„ I forget to take pictures.)
